I’M IN NSW

Help with my broken water meter.

A water meter on an authorised works in NSW must operate correctly at all times. If your water meter has failed or becomes inaccurate, you must notify Water NSW within 24 hours and begin the 91i process to repair or replace your water meter.

You will need to conduct an assessment of use while the meter is not operating or not installed. You may be required to test it for accuracy as well.

Agwater Plus can help you determine your flow rate and meter accuracy to ensure full compliance and assist with your 91i application.

Agwater Plus will determine if retaining your existing water meter is possible under current legislation. Each water meter must be inspected and possibly flow tested to be retained. Agwater Plus has the experience necessary to conduct flow testing. If you own a MACE series III meter, it MAY be retained if installation caters for a reliable flow test. Even some mechanical meters can be retrofitted with a data logger. Certificates of accuracy or flow testing will be required. Agwater Plus is very experienced at flow testing in pipes up to 750 mm. Agwater Plus can provide the solutions for you to keep your existing water meter, if possible, saving you money!

Validate My Water Meter

Bernie is a Certified Water Meter Installer (CMI#24016). The validation process requires a specific form to be completed by a CMI and supplied to the meter owner and NSW Government. Photos of site and security tags placement are part of the process. Data gathering and entry for this process takes several hours and includes a site visit.

Agwater Plus provide the following independent validation services:-

• Validation of new installations, including being onsite for installation, as required by legislation.
• Revalidation of repaired meters and at mandated frequency. A security seal on a water meter can only be removed by a CMI.
• Retention of existing meters with accuracy certificate or accuracy flow testing. Determining what is possible is an Agwater Plus specialty.
• Works Approval status change of old pump/meter sites to “inactive” with Water NSW. CMI must inspect and tag old sites and submit correct form.
